This self catering gîte is in the Bastide Saint Louis, central Carcassonne, just a couple of minutes' walk from Place Carnot and about 15 minutes' walk from La Cité de Carcassonne. It's a self-contained house with accommodation over three floors above the ground floor garage.

The accommodation

On the first floor is the living room with dining area, which adjoins the kitchen. There is a large l-shaped sofa and armchair, and a smart tv. There is a dining table and four chairs. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, with an electic cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and a good range of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware so you can cook well and avoid eating out too often.

The location

On a small road between Rue Verdun and Boulevard Barbes, there are plenty of shops and restaurants very close by. The Cité de Carcassonne is an easy 15 minute' walk from the house.

Travel info

Travelling here: Carcassonne is well connected by road and rail, with the A61 autoroute passing close by, and a railway station on the Toulouse to Narbonne main line. There is an airport about 5km from the town centre, served by Ryanair with flights from Manchester, Stansted, Dublin, Brussels, Porto, Cagliari (Sicily), Edinburgh, Cork, East Midlands (UK) and Bournmouth.

A travel cot, highchair and stairgate (for lower stairs only) are available on request.

Guests may use the garage for parking. However, it has a narrow entry and is only suitable for small or medium sized cars - the size of a VW Golf or smaller. For parking larger cars we recommend using the underground parking at Jacobins which is about 5 minutes' away.
